Special Notes for Facilities

Starting with ANSI 5010 standard, when sending electronic claims you will want  to have;

• The facility attached to the claim (either at the Case level, Transaction level or actual claim itself)

• The facility's information filled out with the correct address and 9-digit zip code (Lists->Facilities->Select & Edit Facilities->Facility Address Tab)

• The NPI under the Facility IDs tab (Lists->Facilities->Select & Edit Facility->Facility IDs Tab)

Also note there may be times when the patient's address is used as the facility location, in these cases the patient must also have the full 9-digit zip code under their patient information in Medisoft.  Normally this is only when the services are rendered at the patient's location.

The facility ids can be edited and filtered the same as the providers or practice ids.

Special Notes for Referring Providers

Normally the only information sent for Referring providers will be their name and NPI number.  In almost all cases if you provide a referring provider name you must also send the referring provider's NPI as well.  The Referring Provider IDs can be edited and filtered the same as the providers or practice IDs.  (Lists->Referring Providers->Select & Edit Provider->Referring Provider IDs tab)
